They are listening and watching! 

Significance, value, identity, worth… LORD HELP US! More is caught than taught. When we were little we were watching and listening everywhere all of the time. The watching and listening started forming our significance, value, identity, and worth. 

Our performance-oriented way of life began the moment Adam and Eve lost their relationship with God. My friend Zeke shares in a book he wrote how impacted he was by the first Rocky movie. After watching he struggled to drink some raw eggs and do a bunch of push ups. My brothers and I put the raw eggs in our milkshakes, did the pushups and could possibly be found running up the steps of our court house raising our hands to heaven. This seems funny and cute thinking of Zeke, Shawn, Bruce, and Gregg doing these things. What we see and hear motivate us and move us in the areas of significance, value, identity, and worth. Seek God's wisdom as you partner with your spouse and local church to make an eternal impact. May we be more intentional and strategic to form the identity of the next generations as we are in the pursuit of our next goal. 

“We are God’s workmanship created in Christ to do good works he prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph. 2:10 Make sure those under your care know what Eph. 2:8,9 says as well.
