Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6
There is much going on in our personal lives and in the world around us that we may not understand. There are numerous life events and areas of which we could worry, rejoice, despair, or question. In our limited view, it can be difficult to understand and trust the path God has us on. It can be hard to accept that we are not in control. I like being in control and really value quality control.
We don't need to understand completely even though I long to understand deeply. I have a tendency to worry if I don’t understand. God’s Word encourages us not to worry about anything. (Matt. 6:34, Phil. 4:6) As the verse above tells us, we can and should trust God with ALL our heart. We can trust Him with our family, finances, school, work, troubles, joys, and with our future. God is sovereign and when we trust in Him completely and submit to Him, He will lead us and guide us on the right path. This very morning I was struggling with a heaviness after my devotions. I ended up making a list of God’s blessings and there was a shift in my mind and heart.
Remember, where the presence of the Lord is, there is peace. Lord, be present with us!
