Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Hebrews 12:1-2
Perseverance is needed in many seasons of life that we all go through. Perseverance is key for life in general. It is easy to want to quit or take a break from things that seem so tiring or never ending. So how, through every season, do we persevere?
There are many things that can help us persevere, like:
- Keeping a healthy pace so we don't get burnt out
- Eating healthy
- Staying hydrated
- Getting enough sleep
These are all things that can help us mentally, physically, and emotionally persevere.
But when we get right down to it, the best thing we can do is to prioritize the most important thing, Jesus. When we keep our relationship current with Jesus, through his strength, we can run with perseverance through the mundane, struggles, temptations, joys, and trials of this life. And more than that, when our eyes are fixed on Jesus, we can persevere with a positive, joyful attitude because we know what we are persevering for. Jesus! Guess what? When we persevere in Jesus, people will see Jesus in us.
Listen to this song, "Only Jesus"
When you feel tired and fatigued in your life, LOOK TO JESUS. Study God's Word, spend time in prayer, and prioritize a relationship with the ONE who never grows weak or weary, the ONE who will strengthen you and help you persevere for His glory.
Lord, give us the strength to take each step this week with positive perseverance as we fix our eyes on you.
