Peace I Give

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

- John 14:26-27

In the mists of hard times, and knowing more hard times were coming for his disciples, Jesus says that he is leaving them with PEACE. Despite what they may face, they would have the Holy Spirit to lead them and help them remember the words of Jesus, words of truth, hope, and assurance in him, no matter what they may face.

When we face trials in life, it is easy to view them through a worldly perspective. Doing so will temp us to live in fear, anxiety, and unrest. However, if we face trials with an eternal perspective, submitting to Christ and His promises, we can live in peace, even in the midst of trying circumstances.

John 16:33 says, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace, In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

We know that this life is full of trials and tribulations we have faced and will face. But Jesus encourages us to "take heart." Though we will have trouble in this world, Jesus has overcome the world! When we give our lives to him, abiding in him each day, we do not have to fear the trials. In Christ, we can have joy and peace as the trials in our lives develop in us perseverance, character, and hope in Christ. (Romans 5:3-35)

We are praying for you and we ask that you pray for us. With God's help, we will get through the trials we face.
