On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"

- John 7:38

God's power is often compared to both wind and water, and for good reason. Both wind and water are powerful, consuming forces that can not be stopped, yet at the same time they can be so life-giving and peaceful. This comparison is a perfect example of the Gospel.

When we turn and come to Jesus, His redemptive power rushes into us, molding and shaping us in to a child of God. At the same time, the Gospel is our peace, giving us true life. The rivers that flow into when we turn ourselves to Christ do not just remain in our hearts. They flow out of us onto all who we encounter.

Pray with me that we would rightly display both the peace and the power of the Gospel in our lives, that it may spill onto those who we are with.
