Jesus spent time with people. He spent time with those his Father told him to spend time with. The greek word for "spend time with" is diatribo. It literally means to rub off on. Jesus was rubbing off his identity on those he spent time with.
In the ministry field for which we serve, we spend intentional time with leaders. Each year, we spend time in prayer, seeking God for days before committing to a diatribo relationship. In these relationships, we grow deeper in our Christlike identity and experience life transformation.
God has been so faithful to lead us to some amazing servant leaders to encourage, invest in, and equip.
Zane and Nicole are a current example. We are a few sessions into premarital life coaching with them. We will meet regularly during the school year, then Shawn will be blessed to officiate their wedding. It's exciting to see this young couple desire to be a disciple-making home in order to advance the gospel until Jesus returns.
