This is what the LORD says: "I will give Jerusalem a river of peace and prosperity.The wealth of the nations will flow to her. Her children will be nursed at her breasts, carried in her arms, and held on her lap.
- Isaiah 66:12 Have you ever walked up to a river to cross and stopped for a moment of peace? I have, and it has happened enough that a wild and crazy idea ran through my mind one day. "I should plan extended time with the Lord by peaceful rivers." Since that time, I have experienced peace beside a river at extremes and the in between. I have taken just a moment to be still at a calming stream, and I have taken some extended time to listen, pray, journal, and rest. When I have done this, I have been filled with a deep sense of PEACE. What comes to your mind when you think about seeking peace? Have you thought about peace as something to pursue? I have been all over the map on this topic. I have ignored the idea at times in my life, and I have tenaciously pursued peace with perseverance. God offers peace to us, peace like a river, TRUE PEACE, even if everything in the world around us is in chaos, God grants peace.
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. - Isaiah 26:3 Join me and let's pursue the peace of God together. Lord, Your peace is a peace that transcends all understanding. May You fill us with true peace today that is only found in You. Wherever we are, draw our hearts and our minds to You, the Prince of Peace.
